Lucius Verus, dupondius, Roman Imperial 161-169 A.D., R.I.C. 1480, 22-26 mm, 11.7 gm. The obverse shows the radiate head of Lucius Verus to the right, with the legend "L. VERVS AVG. ARM. PARTH. MAX.". The reverse shows Aequitas seated to the left, holding scales and cornucopiae. The legend shows "TR. POT. VIII IMP. V COS.III". Both sides are mostly dark brown in color, with a little overtone of some dark green in a few areas. In front of the portrait is a small spot of hard, glossy green. The portrait of L. Verus shows great detail of his face, hair, beard, ear, and eye. This is a genuine original coin, not a copy, replica or reproduction. EX. Frank L.
