I've been in the picking game for 11 years now. I was recently in Egypt visiting family. While there I learned that Egyptians value the new and trash the old, so, coming across legitimate vintage/antique items for sale can be challenging. This license plate caught my eye and I had to rescue it! My mother couldn’t believe her eyes. She recognized this style of license plate from her early childhood (late 50’s to early 60’s). She said they were on the first/early cars in Egypt (before everyone had one). It translates to “137 Old Car”. She said the literal translation is strange but essentially it is proof of ownership.
