This is an antique rosary with relic soil, Terra Delle Catacombe.  This rosary is somewhat rare.  Appears to be circa turn of the century/very early 1900s.

This rosary measures 18" overall length. The crucifix measures about 1.5".   The rosary weighs 18.0 grams.    

The beads on this rosary are oval-shape, about 6mm.  The beads are all the same size.  They appear to be covered with a metallic,  pearlized, gold paint. It must be a high-quality paint; for a rosary this age, there is very little flaking.  They are more or less a European Gold in color.  Each bead has a reinforcement cap, top and bottom.  100% of the caps are present.   

The crucifix has a relic window on reverse.  The relic window is fully intact. Red soil is clearly visible behind what appears to be a thick acrylic cover. The reverse of the crucifix is marked: TERRA DELLE CATACOMBE  ROMA.  It also shows the Chi Rho Christogram (the Greek Letters XP).  There is also a very small cross at the very bottom. 

The crucifix is very likely STERLING SILVER.  It appears to be sterling silver, feels like sterling silver and acts like sterling silver. It has no response to a strong magnet.  A luster appears when a small amount of silver polish is applied to the very bottom of the crucifix (on reverse).  There is a photograph of this.  However, it is not marked STERLING.  This is probably because the mark was not required in the region/during the era this antique rosary was crafted. Silver hallmark requirements vary country to country. NOTE, NOTE, NOTE:  The buyer should exercise great caution if cleaning/polishing efforts are undertaken. It is uncertain how the relic window will react to a cleaning polish/solution.  It could possibly cause a chemical reaction, damaging the relic window.  

The centerpiece might also be sterling silver. It does not respond to a very strong magnet.  However, it has a slightly different metalic appearance than the crucifix.   

The rosary is in excellent to very good antique condition. It is 100% complete.  All the beads appear to be original beads with no replacements noted.  The connective chain is strong and sound.  There is little to no softening of details on the crucifix or the centerpiece.
