Roman Imperial, billon antoninianus of Macrianus, 260-261 A.D., Sear 3091, R.I.C. 9, 20-22 mm diameter, 3.8 gms. The obverse shows a radiate and cuirassed bust to the right, and the legend "IMP. C. FVL. MACRIANVS P.F. AVG." The reverse shows Jupiter seated left, holding a patera and sceptre, with an eagle at his feet. The reverse legend is "IOVI CONSERVATORI". Both sides of the piece are a dark tone going to an olive tone. Both sides retain the sand/desert ground on the surfaces, and both sides show some non-damaging light scraping on the sand/desert ground material. The piece is on a full size flan and still retains good detail on the portrait side as well as the reverse side features. This is a genuine, original coin, not a copy, replica, or reproduction. EX.
