Good condition: Reddish brown cloth boards with stamped gold lettering and
embellishment. Rubbing to edges and
corners of boards. Some chipping on head
of backstrip. Front board has been
exposed to moisture and has a small amount of blistering. No evidence of moisture staining beyond the
front free endpaper. Some foxing on
edges. Page 219 has a small edge
fold/tear in the outer margin. Tightly
bound copy with clean interior having no writing, markings, underlining or
highlighting in margins or text block.
Dr. Fisher was the clerk of the Synod of the German Reformed Church in
America. He also wrote a book to assist
families in catechizing their children "Exercises on the Heidelberg
Catechism." The present title
"The Family Assistant" is quite rare.
