Hand Embroidered Silk on Silk Large Textile Panel


depicts beautiful pictorial scene with Two Playing Children surrounded with ZEN Buddhist objects.

Signed in Four Chinese Characters Hand Embroidered in black silk 

by the corners.

This Padded Embroidery is hand made using Finest Satin Stitches Technique in multi-color silk threads in red, pearl, peach, pearl-gray, black, yellow, olive green, sage, pink, white/off-white, accented with Couching in gold metallic threads for contrasting appearance on a peach/orange silk ground..

The embroidered silk

 panel is finished all around with traditional woven braid and dark fabric border.
It's attached to the carton base, pic.12.

Attributed to the middle-late 19th Century, late Qing Dynasty.

Measurements approximately:
Total size : 25" x 30"
Orange silk inside of dark brown fabric border: 19 3/4" x 25 1/2"
Orange silk inside of woven blue braid: 16" x 21 3/4"
Blue woven braid 1 5/8" wide.

Not Framed.

Condition Report: AS PICTURED, the pice is 120+ years old and shows some expected not major signs of aging to the silk: some tiny lines and points of thinness to rips, pic. 9, 10, 11. No fading, no stains, no spots, no missing embroidery.

This very old, extraordinary example of Chinese Art came from old collector home, being sold AS PICTURED, Attached to the carton base, Not Framed.
