Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a rarer & excellent sounding 1980's era Audio Technica AT836 dynamic cardioid microphone that has very strong output and set at Low Z making this a good choice for singing and broadcasting purposes. It comes with it's original mic clip, 15 foot cable, data sheet, mic sleeve, 1/4 inch transformer & Audio Technica case. This is a high quality, fantastic Audio Technica product an easily on par with any fine dynamic cardioid mic of that era. A very sleek and aggressive looking mic. Made in Japan and built to last.

These Japanese mics were some of the best made mics of that era. Excellent components and incredible quality control. This mic should last for several decades to come without any issue.

This AT836 has an attractive dark green / grey paint scheme on an all metal body and is quite rugged. This mic has a bit of weight so it. Built like a tank but comes with the original mic clip as well so you can mount the mic to any desk or floor stand you have.

I don't have much experience with these Audio Technica mics but I can tell you the sound is quality and has a warm, smooth tone. Very appealing and the pop filter is top notch. You can use a larger foam exterior pop filter if you want for improved sound but the stock is just fine.   The mic has exceptional uni-directional characteristics as well picking up only what's directly in front of it due to it being a cardioid type. Not sure of the exact date on this mic but I'm thinking 1980's or 90's because the data sheet has a 1987 date.

This was a very expensive mic when originally sold.

As you can see there is virtually no wear on the painted finish of this mic. Free of any deep scratches, dents or fractures. The front screen is metal and free of any dents, odors or tarnish. The Audio Technica label shows no wear and completely legible.

This mic is appx 7 inches tall X 1 1/2 inches wide at the tip.

The mic comes with a quality 15 foot cable that works very well for this mic. Excellent condition...soft and pliable. Free of damage and has the standard male & female Switchcraft XLR end connectors for use with most audio equipment. Also included is the male 1/4 inch transformer that will come in handy depending on what audio equipment you are using. The original case is also included that's in great shape and helps to protect the mic when not in use. Great place to store everything as well. Mic clip holds the mic very well and shows very little wear. It will screw onto any desk or floor stand and gives a great degree of tilt up and down.

The original data sheet shows very little wear and a great source of info on this mic explaining everything you need to know.

The mic also has the original mic sleeve that also helps to protect the mic when not in use.

A great package deal on a great vintage mic considering the asking price.

MICROPHONE STAND IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.

Overall I would rate this mic a 9 on a scale of 1 - 10 in the cosmetic department.

As with all my vintage microphone and related items...
