Altimeter 6A/4832 Smiths Canberra, Comet RAF Vintage Aircraft.

Ex-RAF stock. These altimeters were possibly used on other aircraft types but is known to have been used on some variants of the de Havilland Comet and possibly Canberra. 

This instrument like others I purchased came with aircraft serials written in pen on the side, some stating what aircraft type. The serial on this one I have tracked down to a Canberra, which interestingly survives as a cockpit at Brenzett.

I can’t be 100% sure this is correct but others I’ve had have been.

Used. This unit has also been in storage for many years so shows surface corrosion, scuffs and dents. Glass in good order. Needs a clean. Knob moves well. Sold untested, for display only and "as is".

Great item for display or as part of a steampunk / aviation themed project.
