Unlike circulating coins, proof coins display brilliant backgrounds, with frosted, sculpted foregrounds. Proof coins receive the highest quality strike possible and can be distinguished by their sharpness of detail and brilliant, mirror-like surface giving them a special Cameo or Deep Cameo effect.
Coins are taken from U.S. Mint original packaging, carefully placed with gloves in 2×2 Cowen’s or Guardian flip holders, and shipped in strong plain envelopes.
Vermont – The reverse design celebrates snowboarding, featuring a young snowboarder in the air performing a trick called a “melon grab,” set against a mountainous winter skyline inspired by the landscape of Vermont. The intent of the design is to capture a sense of the energy and exuberance of snowboarding through movement implied by diagonal lines and curved shapes. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “VERMONT.” While the concept of riding a board downhill on snow has existed since at least the 1920s, snowboarding’s technological development and transformation from a novel recreation to a worldwide competitive phenomenon are tied closely to the State of Vermont.
The common obverse (heads) features a dramatic representation of the Statue of Liberty in profile with the inscriptions “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “$1.” The design by Justin Kunz also includes a privy mark of a stylized gear, representing industry and innovation. The edge-incused inscriptions are “2022,” “S” mint mark, and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”*

eBay Standard Envelope Service: We ship many coin orders (three or less coins weighing under three ounces) in 2x2 flips using via United States Postal Service (USPS) First-Class mail using eBay Standard Envelope labels. You need to use eBay’s website software to track these envelopes. Note that these envelopes travel through the USPS network slowly. As well, note that USPS may also be slow in updating tracking information to the eBay software.
High Speed Sorters: The USPS First-Class mailing system by default processes standard envelopes through high-speed sorters. This can, and does, damage coins. It also can cause other shipping issues, such as delayed delivery.
If you DO NOT wish your coins to go through high-speed sorters, you can add a small additional fee ($0.48) to your purchase and we will forward this payment to the USPS for your item as a service for our customers. Your order will not be run through high-speed postal sorters while still benefiting from eBay Envelope's tracking service. This method is highly recommended by us AND meets all of the USPS requirements for sending coins though their system. If you wish this service for your order, choose "First Class Letter" shipping at checkout.
Combined Shipping Discount: We cheerfully Combine Shipping charges for all the items in your shopping cart at the time of purchase. This is done automatically for you in eBay's checkout procedure. If there is an issue combining, please message us BEFORE paying the invoice. Once an invoice is paid, we can no longer offer a Combined Shipping discount.
Combined shipping is NOT available on items that include free shipping.
