Romondes SM603 Car Smoke Leak Detector is a universal and professional auto pipe leak detect tool, it will help you to locate hard-to-find leaks in any sealed system, such as Cooling System Test, Car Sealing Test, Throttle Shafs, Engine Block Test, Intake System Test, Exhaust Systems Test, Crankcase system test, Fuel Tank System Test, Turbo System Test, Various Pipe Fittings Test, etc.
Car Sealing Test: Poor airtightness of the car may lead to a lot of inconvenience like inability to keep warm dusty, not soundproof, and not waterproof ,etc.
Fuel Tank System Test: When there are gaps in the fuel tank and piping caused by improper installation or insufficient sealing of the fuel tank cap, it can cause leaks in the fuel tank system.
Exhaust System Test: Unpurified harmful gases to be discharged into the atmosphere or increase vehicle noise is the main disadvantage when leaks happened in the exhaust.
Intake System Test: Leakage in the air intake system will lead to insufficient intake of the car engine, which will result in scant engine power.

Turbo Test: The leakage of coolant would cause the engine to report high water temperature.

Romondes SM603 How to do leakage test？
Step 1: Mount the hook and shop air adapter to the SM603 smoke leak detector, plug the power cord into the socket.
Step 2: Fill 20ml(mineral Oil based) smoke oil into the SM603 auto smoke machine, from refill port on the top. Note: The oil level shall not exceed the level gauge.
Step 3: Connect shop air supply, connect 12V vehicle power, introduce shop air to the SM603 fuel leak tester, turn the Flow Dial anti-clockwise to open the air flow, switch on the power at the back of the unit, then SM603 smoke automotive will start to generate smoke.
Step 4: In about 30 seconds, the pipe will be filled with smoke. Check the leak points. Please use head lamp if necessary. Note: If your smoke machine's fumes are discharged from the top of the machine: please turn on the gas switch first, then power on.

Overheat Protection:When the temperature of the device exceeds 75℃,power protection will be intelligently activated to turn it off.
Anti-frost Protection:The device can also work normally at -20℃

Use Attention
1.When you use this detector the first time, please fill 20-30 ml oil, not beyond this range.
2.Fresh oil can be filled only when the smoke is light, do not add test oil excessive to the volume of the measuring bottle at one time, 15 ml each time will be good enough. Otherwise the smoke outlet equipment will be affected.
3.The test equipment has a temperature protector. If the machine is operated continuously for a long time, it will automatically stop and protect after overheating. If you need to work continuously, after 15 minutes of work, the equipment shall be shut down for 3-5 minutes.
If you have the following problem, please don't be anxious, it may be caused by incorrect operation, so please follow the correct way first.

Oil smoke is coming out from inside the housing or from the top of the machine.
Correct operation: you need to turn on the gas switch first and then power on. Use gas first to determine whether there is a leak, there is no leakage, there is no need to smoke. Even if there is a leak, before injecting smoke should also open the distal interface of the pipeline being tested until there is smoke and then plugged, so that the smoke quickly filled with the system being tested
Smoke leak detector tube is melted and leaking oil.
The SM603 automotive smoke machine has overheat protection, but the temperature protection is triggered at the bottom line of the heater wire to prevent overheating of the external fire. Under normal ventilation conditions, the tube will not melt unless the air supply is turned off or the system is being tested. So when testing you need to pay attention to the state of the flow meter and not keep running the equipment, which will cause the temperature to keep rising and the gas will not take away the heat without flowing.

The SM603 smoke tester automotive can measure smoke very quickly, so when the smoke comes out, you can stop using the device and do not need to continue operating it.
