DESCRIPTION:  Here is a late 19th early 20th century Art Nouveau Ernst Wahliss porcelain figural handled jug. The handle is in the form of a female figure with a bunch of grapes hanging from each side of her head and a bunch of grapes in her right hand. Dressed in a flowing gown in pastel colours. The main body of the jug is in a light green pastel colours with moulded bunches of grapes and vines near the base. The spout has a moulded face probably Bacchus so this could be a wine jug. The jug is unsigned but is definitely a Wahliss shape. There are numbers to the base which are typical Wahliss numbers of 4569 over made in Austria and brown painted numbers 4569 over 410 over 1E.

SIZE: The jug measures 10 3/4 inches high and 6 7/8 at widest point of base. Weighs 1.246 kg before packing.

CONDITION: The jug has no chips, cracks or restoration. There a small imperfections in the jug but does not detract. There is a couple of marks on the jug as in picture 14 one looking like a pen mark or hair but you can not feel it and the other could possibly be the artist but not sure quite what it is but again does not detract.
