As Director General of the Archaeological Survey of India, M N Deshpande successfully completed conservation projects at: the Buddhist caves at Bamiyan (Afghanistan), Angkor Wat (Cambodia), Kevda mosque (Gujarat), Ellora caves (Maharashtra), Kiramchi temple (Jammu), Rani-Ki-Vav stepwell (Patan), and the Jagannath Temple (Puri), all of which are depicted in ‘before-and-after’ illustrations in this short booklet. He also contributes a short introductory essay on conservation and restoration. 18 pages.
