The Who 1971 beautifully signed individual (how apt for these guys) autograph book pages, with Keith, John and Pete adding "To Charles" and Roger adding "To Charles Cheers from The Who". The autographs were obtained on August 13th 1971 at the Hollenden House Hotel in Cleveland Ohio, where the band played a ferocious concert the night before at Cleveland Public Hall during their infamous Who's Next US tour.....Their BEST album and their BEST tour!!!!
It's important to note that Keith, John, Pete and Roger signed on 4 separate pages. None of the autographs
are on the back (reverse) side of each other. Authentic 1971 Who autographs are hard to come by in the condition that these pages are in. These pages would frame up beautifully with a nice photo, (there are some great photos of the band from this Who's Next era, I have many if you need help finding one) of them from this 1971 period of the bands career.
Authentic autographs from this Who 1971 tour are very hard to come by. The Woodstock movie release made superstars out of many of the artists that were in the movie, it just cemented that stardom for
The Who, who were well on their way way there. The fans seeking autographs from artists they liked waned starting from the late 60's....It was a different dynamic, the bands didn't wait around to sign autographs like they did up until the mid 60's....People went to concerts to listen to the music, hang with friends etc.
Comes with a detailed letter of provenance from a family member of Charles's, who originally obtained the autographs that he obtained in Ohio, Los Angeles, New York (and other US cities), Paris and England and he amassed a massive autograph collection of musicians, actors and celebrities.
I saw the original line up of The Who many times (over (12 or more) since their first American tour in 1967, from when they opened up for Herman's Hermits in Asbury Park New Jersey to the Fillmore East, Central Park, the Metropolitan Opera House, Forest Hills Tennis Stadium (their incredible Who's Next tour), Quadrophenia 1973 in Philadelphia and '74 at MSG and their last tour with Keith in 1976 at MSG.....They were never the same without Keith Moon.
These authentic autograph book pages measure a nice 5 1/2" X 4 1/4", signed on four separate pages are signed in blue ink (no sharpie garbage) and are in Excellent+ condition.
Also included in this sale, is The Who's 1971 Who's Next US tour program, which is filled with some really great photos of the band.
Comes with a Certificate of authenticity from JSA.
