Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges star in this comedy drama about an unlikely partnership between a retired thief and a drifter. Thunderbolt (Eastwood) hung up his stealing shoes a long time ago but misses the thrill and excitement. He hatches a plan to recover his lost loot from years before with the help of a few old friends. When hiding the money in an old schoolhouse Thunderbolt is startled by a homeless man by the name of Lightfoot (Bridges). When Thunderbolt's accomplices decide they want a bigger share of the findings, he and Lightfoot team up in an attempt to keep the money safe.
