Rare Antique Glass Compote Etched Star Covered Compote Candy Dish 12.5" Tall.

Very cool compote with etched stars throughout.  I am not sure of the maker ,  Fostoria "Colony" pattern and Baccarat have bases similar to this dish on some of their glassware, but this is not marked. Other listings on Worthpoint with etched Star patterns referred that it is a handy feature about star decorated glassware was that it seemed quite popular during the 1860-70 period and was likely produced by a number of factories. This means it is not too difficult to put together a harlequin set including decanters, glasses and other serving ware in near matching designs - this is much harder to do with many other designs which were not as common. Condition is typical with age with small scratches throughout but, No chips,cracks,  or repairs.  Very large measuring approximately 12.5" tall x 8.5" wide and weighing 4 lbs unpackaged.   Please refer to the photos as they are part of the description.
