The back of the bow tie has velcro loops which secures the bow tie to your pets collar

When choosing your size, please consider ... each size will fit any breed, as the velcro is designed to wrap around the collar. The size you want is all dependent on how you want the bow tie to look, larger bow ties for instance can look very cute on smaller breeds.
