These are still the highest quality files I see.
Vallorbe triangle file for square ground chain filing - 2276.
Less common to find this Vallorbe model, and after using it some recently, I’m really impressed with the consistency I get with the corners. Feels a lot more like a round file, so transitioning to square ground chain filing may be easier with this design.
I’ve found this design to cut as well as the 2279 model that I also have for sale. Will work with all chain pitch - Vallorbe doesn’t give suggestions on what pitch it’s compatible with, and I’ve used it on 3/8 and .404 without an issue.
This file is compatible with the Nicholson PH2 handles that I also have listed in my store. The threaded design of the handles make them reusable over a longer term than the traditional wooden or even the newer plastic handles. If you purchase one (or more) of these files, I will refund shipping for the handles and ship concurrently with your other items.
Listing is for a single file - no chain included - box helps to depict the approximate size of the file.
DISCLAIMER - files are considered consumable supplies (they don’t last forever and longevity is determined by a number of factors). It’s pretty common for chains from Oregon and Stihl to have extra hard cutters or depth gauges that will dull a file abnormally fast, and I take no responsibility for how long these files last. They cut and wear very well under normal use, as with other saw sharpening files.
