BEP has produced U.S. currency since 1862. To celebrate 150 years of pride craftsmanship, and innovation as this Nation’s security printer, this limited-edition, two-note set features a Series 2009 $2 note from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and a Series 2009 $5 note from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. The last four digits of the notes’ serial numbers match. The Series 2009 $2 note serial number begins with “2012” to commemorate BEP’s 150th year as a premier currency producer. The Series 2009 $5 note begins with serial number “1862,” the year BEP was established.
