3M™ Automotive Acrylic Plus Attachment Tape, Black, PT1100 1.1 mm length 5.5 yards, thick 1.14 mm is a black, double-coated acrylic plus tape designed for
the attachment of automotive exterior trim parts such as body side moldings and claddings.

Acrylic Plus Attachment Tapes are OEM approved and are stronger, higher performing, high stress handling products than other automotive attachment tapes. Typical applications include body side moldings, rocker panel moldings, claddings, wheel flares, bumper trim and other exterior and interior automotive trim components.

Acrylic foam adhesive tape with adhesive on both sides. Designed for attaching plastic parts (exterior and interior) to car bodies - moldings, inserts, EPDM seals, emblems, as well as to glass - for example, gluing an additional brake signal.

Due to the unique nature of the acrylic foam, 3M 1100 Tape has excellent strength and adhesion characteristics, and the adhesive strength is superior to existing neoprene tapes. It is recommended to apply on a degreased surface.

RECOMMENDATION FOR APPLICATION TAPE:

1. The optimum temperature for applying tapes is +64°F...+77°F (temperature of the tape, working space and mounting surface). Before use, the tape must be kept in the working room conditions for at least a day.

2. The mounting surface must be clean, free from grease and dry. When degreasing, as a cloth, you should use materials that do not leave fibers and threads on the mounting surface.

3. Before applying the tape, it is recommended to apply 3M adhesion promoter to the mounting surface. The primer is applied evenly in a thin layer. After it dries (maximum 5 minutes) - tape is applied. If the interval between primer application and tape application exceeds 30 minutes, then primer application should be repeated.

4. Mount the tape on the product holding it by the ends and not touching the sticky side. First, apply 1-2 cm of adhesive tape to the mounting surface and press down. Gradually apply tape over the entire length of the mounting surface, eliminating tensile force. Stretching force leads to peeling of the adhesive tape from the liner (protective adhesive layer). After applying the tape, roll it with a rubber roller with a force of at least three kilograms.

5. The mounting surface of the body must be prepared (see point 2). Before mounting the product on the body - it is necessary to remove the liner from the adhesive tape. Avoid touching the adhesive layer during installation of the product to the body. After fixing the product on the body - roll with a roller with no effort less than three kilograms in areas of application tape.

6. 100% bonding strength is achieved 72 hours after installation under temperature conditions (see point 1).

7. If necessary, re-glue new tape is used. In this case, the mounting surface must be cleaned from the remnants of the previously applied tape. To separate the glued surfaces, it is necessary to cut the base of the adhesive tape (string, silk thread or fishing line).
