This is a Good Copy of this Book in publisher's original light tan coloured cloth with blue title lettering to spine,no Dust-Jacket but with remnant of the front cover of the wrapper l;aid in at the front of the book.This copy has one neat previous inscription present to the front endpaper.The book has a firm binding with no hinge weakness and there is no leaning or rolling to spine.Illustrated with some 29 black and white plates plus 6 sketches by the Author and also there are also 11 maps including the front and rear endpaper maps.There is some light spotting along the fore-edge of the book and the outer boards are spotted to the spine also.Fascinating and uncommon book on Tristan De Cunha and became the first man from the outside world to climb it's central peak.This enabled him to make contact with the 190 inhabitants of the island who were kind,virile and hospitable people.A great and incomparable study of the Island,8vo 267pp First Edition 1st Impression  [1941]
