Sharp hand painted Original Animation Production 12 Field Model Cel from Chuck Jones Productions "Yankee Doodle Cricket" TV Movie, circa 1975.  This features the important flag with the United States Creed "DON"T TREAD ON ME" & Snake from the film.  This was one of the numerous made for TV cartoons by Chuck Jones in this era.  Other films included the three made for TV films by Jones from "The Jungle Book" titled "The White Seal" 1975 & "Mowgli's Brothers" 1976 & Rikki Tikki Tavi 1975.  He also did "A Cricket in Times Square", to which, "Yankee Doodle Cricket" is it's sequel & more.  We have cels listed or to be listed from those films as well.  There will also be other Warner Brother's cels with Bugs Bunny, Wile E. Coyote & more.

These authentic cels are getting tougher to find as time goes by due to growing collector interest in this collecting genre & hobby.  The cel is in excellent to near mint condition, but not quite mint (not that many cels are).  The background board in cream and matte are in great shape but may have some minor wear to edges and a minor smudge or two.  Please review all pictures taken to assist you with determining condition & use zoom feature if needed, but it looks terrific.  This is firmly matted & suitable for framing if you choose. The film was made in 1975, but Chuck Jones stamp is from 1980, we think maybe that is when they began to sell these to the public. Photo's #10 & #11 in gallery kind of catch the texture of the hand painted cel or at least we tried to. Really nice piece.

We acquired a number of these cels and are honored to offer them to the collecting public.  We are pricing this under what we feel is a fair value given the cel's appeal & rarity and below most listed or sold of this quality.  Prices on these authentic pieces can sometimes go to more than double our price, but we encourage buyers to do their own research on such and not rely on our opinion.  If you decide to buy more than one of our listed cels by Chuck Jones, let us know and we may offer a discount on multi item purchase & combine shipping.

The collector we acquired this work from had literally hundreds of rare production cel pieces from various works by Jones, many in consecutive series, which we have personally not seen much outside of a studio sale 20 years ago perhaps.  This has a Chuck Jones Production mark on lower left of cel & a standard COA Paper that came with this when purchased.  This is nicely matted & shows the slots in the bottom of the cel from production, which we actually prefer as well as series #'s from the film.

Chuck Jones (Sept 21, 1912 - Feb 22, 2002) is among the elite of the elite cartoon artists & film innovators in history.  If you are looking at this listing, you likely already know this.  In his extensive career he created such characters as the Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Pepe LePew, & Marvin the Martian (and others) as well as helping refine the characters of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Porky Pig & more along the way.  Each of these hand painted cels are from a talented animation artist's hand & a part of cartoon film history.  We feel the collecting of Authentic Animation Art is truly one of the neatest collectible genres.  Not only do you get a piece of a gifted artist's work, each piece is part of a living history of the movies and films they were used in & they make exceptional display items.  It's a bit like owning a World Series game used bat from a baseball player, at least we feel that way. But in this case the World Series never ends as the cartoons keep playing and playing.

Please Note: Some image reflection & distortion may be present in pictures as the cel itself is plastic (or acetate) & reflective of course.  (In some cases, we may photograph artwork in different light settings to try and capture a painting, sculpture or other artwork's look in different settings.  Therefore there may be some variations in color from one picture to another.  The photos are not altered, but may have been photographed in a brighter room, with natural light, a flash feature or other.  Also, we try to note any visible defects we can see but there may be wear or imperfections we miss.  Please view all pictures taken for your consideration and use zoom feature if needed.  Likewise, you can always notify us with questions.)

Please Read: See our Feedback & Buy with confidence.  We ship with extreme care and all items are fully insured!  We often take from 30+ minutes packing more delicate & odd sized items to make sure your treasure is protected.  We also photograph most items above $100 while packing in case a shipper were to ever damage an item (only 1  time in over 2,000 US shipped sales).  For this reason, if an item is ever damaged, it will be the Buyer's responsibility to file a claim with the shipping service and we can provide photos from packing to assist Buyers.  The process is not difficult, but the timing of such does not allow adequate time for the item to be returned to us and then for us to proceed with a claim (chain of custody questions can arise as well on returned items due to double shipping and handling so it is just easier for Buyers).  So again, as noted in listing, we do not offer returns.  Sales tax is charged according to your state or country's regulations.  Of course, there is free local pick up and we can meet to assist if you are near Indianapolis or driving through.  We do this often.

We require signature confirmation your item if it is above $100, so plan accordingly. We can send without signature confirmation if you request, but if item is marked delivered, but comes up missing, buyer would assume all responsibility for loss, as insurance will not cover items without signature confirmation.  Also, we have discounts with FedEx & eBay on shipping which do not always show up in eBay estimates on shipping. We try to refund what we can when there is a notable difference, but we do not know until we actually process the shipping order.
