Antique 1900's hard hunting hat. This 6 and 7/8th sized riding helmet was made by the firm Preece & Curtis in Washington in the late 19th, early 20th century. It retains its original attaching strap which ensured it did not fall off when riding. This is an original bowler hat which is rock hard and is meant to take the strain of riding through branches and woodland in steeplechases and hunts. This was recently acquired from the estate of an esteemed equestrian collector in Beverly Hills.
A great addition to any vintage equestrian collection. This could be used a horse riding helmet.
