Lucien LAUTREC (1909 - 1991) is a french artist that realized in 1935 the famous coat of arms of the city of Paris which bears the latin motto: Fluctuat nec mergitur.

Several of his artworks are in the collection of the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris, Pompidou and in the MAM of Saint Etienne.

The artwork is framed with a rare spanish style frame and a museum glass.

Signed by the artist on the lower left, entitled "Près de l'eau" and dated in the back.
