1930 limited edition 'Printed Privately for the Author by The Torch Press' (Cedar Rapids, Iowa), 7 3/4 x 10 1/2 inches tall paperbound in heavy laid paper printed wraps, fine full-page engraving as frontispiece, title page in red and black ink with small engraving, page edges untrimmed, 57 pp. 1930 signed typewritten letter from the author to the prior owner laid in. Wraps are somehwat rubbed and edgeworn, with a 1 x 5 inches piece lacking from the rear cover's fore edge. Otherwise, a very good copy - clean, bright and unmarked.

Henry Howard Harper (1871-1953) was the American author of numerous books, many about authors, books and book collecting, including Oliver Goldsmith (1928), About Books in General and Henry Fielding in Particular (1931), Romantic Mr. Dickens (1941) and Library Essays About Books, Bibliophiles, Writers, and Kindred Subjects (1924).
