Type: Color 8x10” photo with 2x8” hand signed card on obverse in blue ink beneath his image. Both photo and autograph card are adhered to border. The reverse backing of the photo reveals a personal notation from a collector that establishes a provenance for the item.

Overall Size: 11x14”

Condition: minor signs of age toning (see photos).

Authentication: this autograph is from the estate of an ecclesiastical and historical autograph collector. While we do not have a purchase receipt or a COA, we have no reason to doubt its authenticity.

From Wikipedia: “Opilio Rossi (14 May 1910 – 9 February 2004) was a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church and president of the Pontifical Council for the Laity.

He was born in New York, the son of Angelo Rossi and Davidina Ciappa. The family moved to Italy when he was a young boy.

He was educated at the Collegio Alberoni in Piacenza and later the Pontifical Roman Athenaeum "S. Apollinare" in Rome where he earned a doctorate in canon law with a thesis on St. Basil.”
