** 'SCARCE' BOOK EVENT BROCHURE:   How can we summon up yesterday?  The human brain is amazing.  We can summon  someone or something right before our minds eyes;  instantly.  All we have to do is think of them;  or it.  I magically bring up those two days in June 1991, often. I can hear the peoples sounds and laughters. I can reach out and shake the brothers hands, and hear their ideas for the future. I wave, and speak softly, to all the beautiful fine dressed sisters.  It's so 'GREAT' having these magical powers. I was a international book buyer for the SHRINE OF THE BLACK MADONNA's three bookstores. The headquartered Detroit bookstore on Livernois  and  Davidson Ave, and bookstores in Atlanta Ga., &  Houston, Texas.  My specialty was (is), Egypt and other African Civilizations; ancient & modern.  Cardinal Nandi (Hon. Barbara Martin) was one of my mentors and a wonderful friend. That insightful lady was a genius. She ran the three bookstores like a well running Rolex. If you talk about intelligent strong black women in charge, that was Cardinal Nandi. Those two days in June 1991 was part of a huge historical 1980's & 90's Detroit African history awakening; a renaissance. With the influence and monies from the 'Shrine' and,  Detroit had a quiet behind the scenes millionaire, and bibliophile, named Babatunde. They financed black scholars from around the world to come  to Detroit,  In the 1980's & 90's you name the scholar, and Detroitiers  could tell you when that scholar was here, and when they'll be back. This 'Brochure' itself is a scarce treasure. This Book, this magical Book is scarce, now. I wish there were so many copies of this book that booksellers could sell them at their  original price of  $15.00. ----- Those were the days ...
