This is an Estate Fresh old Wool over reed or grass large size Bowl or Basket in an very colorful but unusual design. Its in great condition with no splits or breaks, slight pilling. Its all coiled and woven together I believe. This piece is out of my area as I have never seen or had one of these Baskets before. There were several nice Native American Artifacts in this home, so I just rolled the dice and bought it because it was so unusual. It certainly has a lot of age to it, you can see how some of the wool is frayed or worn, though not much. It has wear on the bottom and it was in this home for at least 50 years according to the kids. Its a big piece, it is 16.5" across at the top, 9" across on the bottom and it stands 6.5" tall. Its good and tight though obviously pliable. Really good colors still with little fade. Its just a super cool looking old piece.
