DESCRIPTION: Now finally available! An extremely rare and very dramatic, large 47" x 63″ French theatrical movie poster from one of the more infamous Edgar Wallace crime thrillers. Scotland Yard is after a homicidal maniac called The Blue Hand, which he uses to kill his victims. If you are a Krimi / Edgar Wallace collector, this poster has it all: a beautiful woman, a masked killer, a bloody steel claw hand, and, of course, the grim atmosphere of London as the backdrop.

SYNOPSIS: This West German film was directed by Alfred Vohrer and stars Harald Leipnitz. It was based on the story The Blue Hand by Edgar Wallace. The film is about the hunt for The Blue Hand, a homicidal maniac who Scotland Yard are attempting to track down. The majority of original posters were discarded by the studios, and it's therefore very rare to find one. The original design of this poster was for the French release of the film, but was also used when the film was released in Italy.

This rare poster was originally sent to theatres to be displayed in the lobby to promote the film's running engagement. When it was over, most were thrown away to make room for the next movie.
Thus, they were also printed on cheaper paper and the vintage poster that have survived today have multiple tears, stains, rips and multiple pin holes in each corner.
