Original Etching William Unger Artist Pencil Signed ~ Fish Merchant

William Unger (1837 - 1932) was an influential German etcher, scholar, and teacher.   He was a professor of graphic arts at the Vienna Academy, and many well-known artists studied under him.

This etching depicts a fish seller with a basket of his wares, talking to a woman at the gate of a house. 
They are next to a stone walkway with surrounding foliage.

The print is signed in pencil by the artist on the lower right.

This artwork is nicely framed and matted.
The vintage frame measures 13 1/4" x 11 3/4"
The frame has wear from ordinary use.
The matting has some discoloration from age.
The image size is 6 1/2" x 5"
