Attributed to Shoji Hamada but could be Mashiko . Tenmoku glaze plate.  My mother bought several plates in Tokyo Japan in 1953.  She worked as a secretary for the U.S. Navy and was stationed 3 blocks away from the United States Embassy and the Emperor Palace.  The studio pottery shop was located in the same Ginza district.  Each had a box but left them to take back on the many airplanes back.  One photograph is a document of  a Chinese cooking class in 1953 (not included).

In fine condition , solid, no chips or cracks. Some imperfection un-glazed area. Not signed.  Measures 2 1/2 inches in height and 8 7/8 inches in diameter.
