An American science-fiction family film co-produced and directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Melissa Mathison, featuring special effects by Carlo Rambaldi and Dennis Muren. It tells the story of Elliott, a lonely boy who befriends an alien who is stranded on Earth. He and his siblings help it return home while attempting to keep it hidden from their mother and the government. It was shot in California. Unlike most motion pictures, it was shot in roughly chronological order, to facilitate convincing emotional performances from the young cast. It was a blockbuster, surpassing Star Wars to become the highest-grossing film of all time, a record it held for ten years until Jurassic Park, another Spielberg-directed film, surpassed it in 1993.
The DVD is new, sealed in the manufacturer's protective plastic wrapper. The DVD includes Digital HD code, but the expiration date of the code is not mentioned on the case. So, availability of the download cannot be guaranteed. Please see our other DVDs and Blu-rays. Check out all our items!
