■ Standard auto switcher SW8 evolved to MK2
The auto switcher SW8, which supports professional stages around the world such as U2, Lady Gaga, The Eagles, Radiohead and Cirque Du Soleil, has evolved into MK2. The SW8 MK2 is an 8-channel switcher for live concerts used primarily on backing track stages. If a problem occurs with the main playback machine connected to the SW8 MK2, switch to the backup machine using any of the following methods: automatic / manual / remote control.
■ Input and output
The SW8 MK2 can route any of the two groups of eight inputs to the eight outputs. The input is connected via a standard 8-channel D-Sub 25-pin connector or 1/4 "TRS connector. The output is isolated via an 8-channel D-Sub 25-pin (balanced, line level) or transformer Many engineers connect via mic-level XLR output, and many engineers send the D-Sub output to a monitoring playback system, and the mic-level XLR output on the front panel is used as a mic splitter or snake system for PA. Use to connect.
■ 3 modes
There are three modes for switching SW8 MK2: manual, remote and automatic. Select the mode according to your taste and experience. Some engineers prefer to run two computers separately so that if one fails, the other can cover it. They start both laptops at the same time and switch manually if a problem occurs. Others prefer to synchronize and automate both devices with timecode. In this case, if there is a problem with the master playback system, the SW8 MK2 will automatically switch to the backup system.
