Tilts backwards slightly once installed.
Use a 1/4" deep socket or needle-nose pliers to seat the emblem nuts (lock washers) tightly.

The Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) sensor that is protected by the
cover are extremely finicky and often throw codes even when no cover is present
due to suspension, tire, and grille changes, dirt, snow, weather, etc. There is even a Toyota service
bulletin that reads as follows:
"As you may be aware, Toyota recently introduced TSS on
Tacoma models, TSS on these vehicles utilizes a camera and millimeter wave
radar that are carefully calibrated dyring the vehicle manufacturing process.
In order to maintain this calibration and ensure proper function of the system, Toyota reminds all dealers that we recommend dealers do NOT modify vehicles in any manner that will affect these systems, including by not limited to changing the original tire sizes and/or vehicle suspension components such as "lift kits" and/or lowering springs and swapping out the applicable Non-TRD Pro grilles (and vice versa)."
Ensuring a tight fit of both the grille and sensor cover is key in helping reduce sensor issues.
Even installing everything correctly may trip a sensor.
Some warnings will come and go, others will self-calibrate after a couple/few weeks and not come back, others may require recalibration at a dealer.
