MITSUBISHI starter motor's are prone to failure and are expensive to replace. 

Fortunately the starter is very reliable apart from the solenoid which can wear away the internal copper contacts.

The solenoid can be changed very easily in about 10 minutes once the starter is removed from the vehicle.

The usual symptom would be a clicking sound and intermittent starting.

Before buying the solenoid it's best to check condition of the main starter ie is it strong and does it spin fast and free when the solenoid actually works?
