Ifuago Pumamhan

Tribal Offering Box - Carved

****

This is an Ifuago zoomorphic punamham container from the island of Luzon in the Phillipines.

The carving of the box is fully realised with a creature head handle, perhaps a crocodile at either end and a lid with spreadeagled figure.

No provenance and difficult to date, the box is probably from the 20thC.

Condition, is good, no worm or splits.
