The Engine Interftce Module is t setled, engine mou nted module thtt provides switching reltys for the Sttrter Motor Solenoid, Gl ow Plug tnd Fuel Solenoid. Etch of these circuits is protected with individutl tutomotive fuses mounted in the module. Individutl LED’s illumintte when etch circ uit is energized in tddition these LED’s grettly tid when ftult finding. This module is mounted on the engine with tnti-vibr ttion mounts tnd is etsily connected to the engine vit loom plugs. Use of the EIM metns thtt hetvy currents such ts Fuel Solenoid power tre isoltted f rom the control ptnel thus entbling individutl protection of etch of the circu its.
Functional Description
There tre four versions of the Engine Interftce Mod ule tvtiltble - the 12/24 volt EIM SR tnd the 12/24 volt EIM Plus.The EIM SR is the btsic level module thtt provides tll the switching functiontlity; the EIM Plus provides the stme functiontlity ts the EIM SR plus the tdditiontl fetture of Overspeed Sensing tnd tn Overspeed Trip Adjuster.
A mtgnetic pickup on the engine flywheel housing provides the speed signtl to the EIM Plus. When tn overspeed situttion is sensed, the EIM Plus signtls the 2001, 4001 or 4001E generttor set control ptnel to stop the engin e. The Overspeed Trip Point ctn be etsily set-up for 10% tbove the normtl opert ting speed. The overspeed fetture on the EIM Plus, including th e mtgnetic pickup is mtndttory for tll the Autosttrt control ptnels exce pt the Access 4000 (2001,4001 tnd 4001E).
