The SunSun CPF-250 pressure filter is a compact all-in-one pond filtration system with the fastest and most convenient cleaning mechanism on the market. Designed for ponds up to 4,000 gallons, it can easily be hidden from view by burying it up to its lid in the ground with all functionality and maintenance options remaining accessible.

Pressure filters are ideal for small to medium sized ponds. They are generally fed water by the use of a submersible pump that is positioned directly in the pond or pond skimmer. The pressure filter is a sealed unit and therefore allows for installation flexibility. 11-Watt UV helps control and kill algae.

Cleaning and maintenance:
The water can be pumped to a higher lying waterfall and then led back into the pond. The annual maintenance is limited to checking the filter media and the UV-lamp. The filter has a modern flush back function that can be adjusted by means of a switch with four functions. With the switch you have the following possibilities for setting:

• Switch position "Filter"
Normal operation - the water passes through the pressure pond filter with the help of a pond pump and returns cleanly into the pond.
• Switch position "Clean"
The filter is in resting position. The water is led through the pump and not via the filter.
Cleaning mode - In this mode the cleaning mechanism is released, allowing to press the control dial and by this means to squeeze the filter sponges without opening the pond filter. In the cleaning mode the dirty water is derived via an additional connection and can be used for example for garden irrigation.

Filter Placement:
The filter is placed at the pond side and by means of a a suitable pump (not included in delivery) connected with the water. The water circulates through the filter and the UV-device and after being cleaned is led again into the pond.

Fundamental Functionality:
Pond filter combine the mechanical and biological cleaning. Microorganisms settle on the filter material and remove germs and bacteria from the water. By mechanical filtering, suspended particles and dirt remain in the pond filter and by this means no longer return to the pond water.

It takes about 4-6 weeks, until Filter Bacteria have sufficiently colonized the bio pond filter. Only thereafter t is advisable to switch on a UVC Pond Clarifier. Starter bacteria help to shorten the start-up phase of a new filter. Starter bacteria refer to microorganisms especially grown in a laboratory. By adding them, you can shorten the start-up phase considerably. Bacteria are active above a temperature of approximately 10°-12°C, the pond filter´s temperature should exceed 40°C. So the pond filter should be placed in the shadow and not be exposed to direct sunlight.

UVC-pond clarifiers irradiate the water in a flow-through reactor with UV rays. The UV-C radiation destroys the swimmig algae. The algae agglutinate to large particles and ca be easily removed by means of mechanical filtering.Our UVC clarifiers modify the tertiary and the quaternary structure of the algae proteins by means of UV-radiation. This means the destructions of the algae which can be removed from the water by pond filters.
