We are happy to offer this stunning solid wood ring made of two layers of maple wood with a layer of bloodwood in the middle. Each ring is handmade to order, so each will have a unique grain pattern and color. You ring will truly be one of a kind!
***When you purchase you must specify your ring size. Are rings are available from sizes 4 to 13, including half sizes. Ebay has a place when you pay to leave a note for the seller. Please use that space to tell us your size. If you do not give us the needed information then we will not be able to craft your ring.***
Notes about our process:
We mill down solid wood to the needed thickness. We then glue the layers together to create a strong bond between them. We also run the grains in different directions which adds strength to the final product. We drill a hole close to your ring size and then continue to bore out the hole until the true ring size is reached. Once that is complete we use various tools and techniques to shape the outside of the ring. Once the ring has its basic shape we then sand. And sand. And then sand some more. We work through the progression of sandpaper grit until a smooth finish is achieved.
The ring will have a final width of about 8mm. Inner edges are also rounded for a more comfortable fit.
Once the ring has its final shape, we fine sand it, oil the wood, and apply several layers of water-resistant finish to the ring. We then do a final polish and your ring is ready to go!
Notes about strength and care:
Solid wood rings have the benefit of showing very unique grain patterns. It is not the strongest way to make a wood ring however. This is ok though and your ring will last a long time as long as you take care of it. Avoid wearing your ring in the shower, while doing dishes, while swimming, or doing other activities that have prolonged exposure to water or chemicals. Avoid applying weight to the ring, and also avoid pressing it between your fingers in a test of strength ;)
Care for the ring is simple. Light buffing with a microfiber cloth keeps it looking nice. If you want to add a little shine, buff it with a little bit of olive oil.
Note on sizing:
Solid wood rings cannot be resized without ruining the finish inside the ring. Please be sure of the ring size before you order. If you need help determining your ring size, there are many third party websites with tools that can help you. Even better, please consider visiting the jewelry counter at a local store and ask them to size you. They will do it for free. These rings are hand-crafted per order. We are not able to issue a refund if you order the wrong size.
