English Ash 'square' spindle blanks cut from locally felled trees.  Often considered a bit ordinary but in reality it's far from it. The pale yellows and browns are delicate and attractive and the grain patterns pronounced. It's a heavy, medium coarse grained timber that is strong with good resistance to splitting.
