Lieblinge (Film Favorites). 1 of 40 favored Large Cards in the 200 Card Set.

hard to find in this high grade.
- Distributed in Germany by the Garbaty Cigarette Company
thru Passion Brand Cigarettes.
- Cards in this rare set were far superior in technology
compared to other cigarette cards of the 1930s. The beauty of their colors,

ADDITIONAL FACTS AND
INFORMATION:
- Gusti Huber was born in Austria in 1914. At
the early age of 16 she found herself starting a stage career in Switzerland.
Her theatrical talent brought her to America
as well. It was 1935 when she started
her movie career. She became well known for her last film in 1959 when she played the mother of Anne Frank in “The Diary of Anne Frank”, a role she played earlier on stage.
- These 1937 Garbaty Film Lieblinge Cards were extremely
limited in production. The earlier 1934 Garbaty Modern Schonheitsgalerie
Cards were mass produced for about 2 years. They were also distributed
thru the popular Kurmark Brand Cigarettes. However, these 1937
Passion Brand Cigarette Cards were low in production for a couple reasons:
- 1. Passion Cigarettes were not as popular as other
cigarettes limiting their distribution.
- 2. In 1937 the Nazi Regime was forcibly taking over
the Garbaty Company and
- terminating production of cigarette
cards all together.
- A brief story behind these cards is
extremely fascinating and can be found at the Card Registry of the SGC
Website (https://sgccard.com/) under "1937 Garbaty Film
Lieblinge."
