This is a long, handcrafted, antique sterling silver (marked) hatpin with a three-dimensional top.  It is hallmarked with an upright anchor, a lion, and the letter 'm" signifying it is from Birmingham, England; it is sterling silver; and was made in 1911-1912.  It has a maker's mark of P & T for Pearce and Thompson.  The top measures 3/4 inch in diameter and is 3/4 inch high.  The entire length of the hatpin is 12 5/8 inches, and it weighs 6.2 grams.  This hatpin is in excellent condition.  Note: being handcrafted, the swirls are not uniform (see photos).
