"Number 1 Angel is the third mixtape by English singer Charli XCX, released on March 10, 2017, through Asylum Records.

Genesis: Written and recorded in just a couple of weeks in Los Angeles after her planned third studio album was shelved.
The PC Music Era: It marked her first major, full-fledged collaboration with producer A.G. Cook (founder of PC Music), alongside contributions from Sophie, Danny L Harle, and others. This sound shifted her away from straight pop and rock into avant-pop, bubblegum bass, and experimental electronic territory.
The Vibe: Charli described the project not as the party itself, but as "crying into the champagne"—after-hours, emotionally distant, and a pivot point toward her acclaimed mixtape and hyperpop lineage.
Features: Unlike her earlier records which rarely featured guests, Number 1 Angel heavily leaned into collaborative energy, bringing in rising and underground voices.

Dreamer (feat. Starrah and RAYE)

While projects like Pop 2 and Brat often receive larger cultural spotlights, fans (the "Angels") view Number 1 Angel as a foundational blueprint for her futuristic sound and her signature collaborative style."
