This is a piece from a batch of high quality Desert glass and may include an odd chip and surface wear which is typical of these specimens. This will have been found on the surface and there is very little remaining on the surface. This piece is smooth on all surfaces.
This is believed to be approx. 29 million years old and was the result of a Meteorite impact or Airburst event in the Sahara Desert. The extreme heat that this results in melts the desert sand into this beautiful golden coloured glass.
It has been highly valued throughout history and is often carved into jewellery such as the scarab beetle found in the burial chambers of the Egyptian Pharoah Tutankhamun.
It is believed to be a high energy stone of personal growth and transformation. It is a stone that amplifies energy and intention as well as one of protection and spiritual insight. It is also thought as a stone of manifestation as well as helping us connect with cosmic and extra-terrestrial energies.
