Here's a chance to bring a little piece of Texas railroad history to your HO scale layout!

This Walthers Gold Line two-car set represents the Texas South-Eastern Railroad, a small East Texas short line with a history dating back to 1900. Founded to serve the logging operations of the Southern Pine Lumber Company, the railroad grew into a 78-mile regional line, carrying lumber, timber, and passengers through the pine forests and communities of East Texas.

Like so many small regional railroads, the Texas South-Eastern eventually faded from its former prominence. Its days as a traditional short-line freight railroad came to an end in 1996. Though a small switching operation survives at Diboll, the railroad's long history as an independent regional carrier is largely a thing of the past.

There's something special about these little railroads. They may never have had the name recognition of the big Class I lines, but they have stories and character all their own. For modelers who appreciate short-line history and the everyday working railroads that once served communities across America, this is a particularly appealing set.

These are Walthers Gold Line models, featuring metal wheels and quality detailing. The set includes two 72' centerbeam flatcars, along with a lumber load, ready to add some distinctive lumber traffic to your freight fleet.

An uncommon older Walthers release and a wonderful opportunity to give a little-known railroad a place on your layout. Don't miss the chance to add this piece of East Texas railroad history to your collection!
