DSI Prophet 08 Desktop Synthesizer – Priced for Quick Sale

Up for sale is a DSI Prophet 08 desktop module. It’s a fantastic-sounding synth, but I want to be completely upfront about a known issue so there are no surprises.

The issue:
The potentiometers (pots) on this unit don’t work properly. This is a well-known fault on the Prophet 08 range. DSI originally repaired the pots on this unit, but they are no longer offering that fix. I have been quoted approximately £140 plus labour to have them replaced, which is why this is priced low for a quick sale.

The good news:
When the pots are cleaned with electrical contact cleaner and left for approximately 24-72 hours, the unit works perfectly. It has also had limited stage use with no issues. It’s a very usable synth as it stands, but the pots will eventually need replacing for a permanent fix.

Collection:
Available for collection from Bristol, London or Birmingham.
