c. 1924; Wellington-Stone Co. - Chicago, IL

Decorative floor smoking stand constructed with an ornate cast-metal top and base joined by a turned wooden stem. The square tabletop features an undulating edge, four cigarette rests, and dense relief decoration incorporating floral, shell, and figural motifs. Its circular ashtray insert is removable for convenient cleaning and is embellished with a heraldic shield, animals, and decorative lettering. The stem alternates between richly textured gilt sections and smooth turned elements with contrasting dark finishes, terminating in a scalloped base with floral relief and concentric beaded molding. The underside of the tabletop is embossed "WELLINGTON - 7 - STONE CO. - NO. 7," while the base is embossed "WELLINGTON STONE CO. - NO. 6 - PAT 8-26-24."

Stand is in good condition for its age. The top is loose at its connection and spins on the base. Scattered pigment and finish loss is present on the metal base and darker portions of the wooden stem. Additional age-related wear includes scratches, rubbing, discoloration, oxidation, patina, and areas of verdigris around the base perimeter and recessed decoration. The wooden stem exhibits scattered scuffs, abrasions, and finish wear. The ashtray insert remains removable as intended.
