c. 1940s; Globe-Wernicke Co Ltd - Cincinnati, OH

Two-tier desktop correspondence organizer constructed from formed sheet steel with a warm beige enamel finish. The design incorporates two broad document trays with rounded fronts, raised sides, and tall rear panels, held in a staggered arrangement by chromed wire risers. Rolled edges reinforce the sides, while the open fronts provide easy access for sorting incoming and outgoing paperwork. The Globe-Wernicke emblem is embossed into the metal.

Item is of solid construction with light surface scratches, small dents, and scattered areas of discoloration. One area has been rubbed through the painted finish, exposing the underlying metal. A set of feet on the underside is crushed, with one foot missing material. Both trays have feet, though it is unclear whether the unit was designed to separate into individual trays; gentle attempts to separate them produced no movement, and no further force was applied. A scrap of paper remains wedged behind a riser bar on the back. Additional age-related wear includes minor scuffs, abrasions, and finish irregularities.
