Up for sale is a beautiful vintage Webcor Compact Deluxe reel-to-reel tape recorder, manufactured by Webcor Inc. in Chicago, Illinois. Unlike most of these mid-century units found today with dry-rotted or snapped internal belts, the mechanics on this machine are responsive!

As shown in the video:

* **Electronic Status:** The unit powers on smoothly, and the internal amplifier/speaker produces healthy static audio noise when turned up, indicating the internal audio circuitry is active.

* **Mechanical Status:** The spindles successfully rotate under power in PLAY, FAST FORWARD, and REWIND modes.

* **Please Note:** Because I do not have a reel of recorded magnetic tape, the unit was tested without tape. Actual audio playback and recording quality of tape media have not been verified.

**Cosmetic Condition:**

* The unit is housed in its original textured black carrying case, which shows normal wear from age but remains structurally sound.

* Comes with its rare, original Webcor handheld microphone with a long cord and direct input jack (highly sought after by vintage audio collectors and harmonica players alike!).

* The decorative center caps on the front volume and tone control knobs show heavy degradation/melting (typical for this specific vintage plastic formula), but the knobs themselves turn and function completely fine. Please review the photos carefully for a full view of the cosmetics.
