Is it suitable for my button quails?

The 1.5" ports are specifically designed for large, adult quail breeds. Small quails (such as button quails) and chicks won't truly benefit from the zero-waste design, so we do not recommend purchasing this feeder for them.
Is this feeder rainproof, and can it be used outdoors?

While our feeder does include a rain cover, it won't completely keep out heavy rain. Because of this, we recommend mounting it on indoor cages or on outdoor cages that have some sort of roof or shelter.
Can I hang this feeder inside the cage or place it on the ground?

No. There are no hooks on the back of the feeder, so it cannot be hung inside the cage. Placing it directly on the ground also creates a tipping hazard, so please do not use it on the floor.
Will cutting the wire mesh let predators get in?

No. First, the opening is quite small. Additionally, the weight of the feeder keeps its entire front completely flush and tightly sealed against the hole. We also include a spring tension clip to hold it securely in place for extra peace of mind.
Why Do I Still See Some Feed on the Ground?

Some spill is normal because quail may flick out unwanted pieces. Fine feed, aggressive eating, or an incorrect feeding height can also cause a few crumbs to fall. This feeder reduces scratching and head-swinging, but cannot eliminate every crumb.
