* Significant rubbing, fading and general wear to the cloth covers and spine. * Heavy surface damage and loss to the pictorial illustration on the front cover. * Fraying and wear to the spine ends, corners and board edges. * Pages show age-related tanning, discolouration and occasional spotting. * Evidence of a removed label or pasted material on the front endpaper, leaving a large discoloured area. * Former owner’s label reading “A. Byard” inside the front cover. * Title page shows considerable discolouration and marks from previous attached material. * Two illustrations are missing from this copy. * Wear and exposed material visible along the rear inner hinge.
